Applied Global Citizenship

This action research project will bring together multidisciplinary teams of faculty and students from four Matariki Network Universities (MNU): UWA, Durham University, and the University of Otago and Uppsala University. Participants will work collaboratively to develop practical and applied global citizenship experiences and outcomes, to be offered as part of the MNU’s Global Citizenship Programme (GCP). The associated publication outputs will further the MNU network’s goals of leading research and practice on global citizenship and educating global citizens, and of seeking new pathways for universities to critically explore their own implication and potential within global citizenship networks, involving people and activities both inside and outside the university. Overall, the project will undertake action research focused on process: what kinds of processes enable constructive and meaningful global citizenship initiatives and how can universities model and communicate best practice in this space?
