MATARIKI GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP
The Matariki Global Citizenship Programme is a newly founded initiative within the Matariki Network of Universities (MNU), launched in April 2016. The Programme serves as an “umbrella” for a variety of multi-institutional activities in education, research and engagement.
MATARIKI NETWORK OF UNIVERSITIES (MNU)
The Matariki Global Citizenship Programme is part of the wider Matariki Network of Universities (MNU). This is an international group of seven leading, like-minded universities; each amongst the most historic in its own country and recognised as being research-intensive, focused on providing high-quality student experience and flexible, modern, innovative and globally-orientated institutions.
GLOBAL CITIZENS FELLOWSHIP EXCHANGE
The Fellowship Exchange will offer opportunities for students and faculty to visit Matariki partners in order to explore global citizenship themes and issues through internships, event organisation and research, and to contribute to the development of joint projects.
THE GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP FORUM
The proposed Global Citizenship Forum will support the wider Global Citizenship Programme by providing a regular structured space for group interaction and exchange to develop Programme activities. It will also serve to maintain momentum and continuity among the diverse groups of students and faculty working on global citizenship initiatives around the network.
"This network is meant to ‘partner for a better world’— great intentions, yet the network and its motto prompted serious debate for me and other participants. What could I, we, do to partner for a ‘better world’? Why should we? How should we?"
