Dartmouth GCP 8th September 20175th September 2017 Great Issues Scholars participate in a year-long series of highly interactive events aimed at enhancing their understanding of the world and current international events. Scholars work and learn together while they gather for small-group events around specific themes such as global health, climate change, gender in politics, international development, and regional security challenges. Students returning to campus after participating in a program often speak of experiences that were academically and culturally rich as well as life changing. A distinguishing feature of Dartmouth’s program model is strong involvement by departments and interested faculty, which leads to the development of meaningful relationships between undergraduate students and faculty directors/mentors, and it ensures that off-campus program experiences are tightly integrated into the on-campus curriculum. Dartmouth offers a variety of opportunities for undergraduate students to study off-campus and earn credit toward their degree. The four main categories of opportunities for off-campus study are Dartmouth Language Study Abroad (LSA and LSA+), Dartmouth Foreign Study Programs (FSP), Dartmouth Exchange Programs, and Transfer Credit from another four-year, degree-granting, academic institution unaffiliated with Dartmouth College.
